About Us
In 2003 Juanita Jackson purchased a building located at 833 Sixth Street in New Orleans, Louisiana. This building would become the future site of her long awaited bed and breakfast. In 2005 Hurricane Katrina put a damper on the construction process of The Duchess. However in 2008 Mrs. Jackson brought her dream to life. She demolished the old building and built a two-story eight bedroom bed & breakfast. On Saturday October 03, 2009 The Duchess had its Grand Opening Ceremony. The Duchess is a tribute to Mrs. Jacksons grandmother. Her birth name was Sidney M Morris but she was known by the ones who loved her as Duchie. To Mrs. Jackson she was and will always be The Duchess. The Duchess is a newly constructed eight bedroom Bed and Breakfast in the heart of the Historic Lower Garden District.
